The Mother of Promotional Gifts!

Budgets are annoying aren't they? Sometimes you want to go all out for a really hot promotion like a USB stick but you've only got the budget for some water bottles. Now given the right pitch and the right imprint water bottles can be just as memorable and perhaps as useful as a USB stick, but still it's the age old adage that the grass is always greener.

Well the grass was certainly greener on the red carpet last night!

While Hollywood has been in the business of promoting (actors, movies, ect), the one night that everyone talks about is The Oscars. While Jennifer Hudson and Helen Mirren were taking home the coveted golden statuette, they were also taking home something else: about $71,000 of something else.

The Oscar Swag bag was handed out with 1099 forms (because of tax issues) and included such things as $25,000 trip to Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

Can the Oscar's be at the next tradeshow please? I really like Vegas.

But since the rest of us can't afford to hand out Victoria's Secret lingerie encrusted with $5,000 worth of diamonds and sapphires (who would wear that anyway?), we'll have to stick with the usual: pens, water bottles, and USB sticks. But put all your goodys in a drawstring bag and it's almost like an Oscar Swag Bag. Almost...

It's Almost Spring!!

Perhaps the ground hog was right! The weather here has most definitely turned for the better, and getting out of my car this morning I was actually not freezing for a change! So with that in mind, expect rain. While I'm hardly Al Roker, I can still pretty much figure out that if we're not going to get snow, rain's going to come at some point.

So why not prepare your clients and employees for the wet weather with a custom printed umbrella! This promo tote umbrella measures 42" and has a great sueded handle! Available in a rainbow of colors, it's most definitely the perfect umbrella for the upcoming weather!

Promotional Radios!

So every morning on my drive to work, I put on my absolute favorite radio station, Z100. I've been listening to it for probably 15 years at least, and I just love it. It's a typical top 40 radio station, but the morning show is just such an awesome bunch of people that I love. Problem is: the morning zoo is on from 5:30-10am, and I get to work anywhere between 8 and 9. So I miss a lot of the stuff. Now they do have streaming internet radio, but sometimes it's just handier to have a little radio on your desk.

Hence the blog about radios. Everything’s MP3 now, I know. And I stopped this morning to buy batteries for my desktop iPod speakers, so I fall into the category too. But sometimes you want more variety in your life than just what’s on your iTunes.

Promotional Mozart Radio

This Mozart Radio is a great addition to any workspace. It's compact and stylish, and makes a great gift for customer service appreciation month, employee appreciation day, or as an incentive!

Back it Up!

I like when my data is saved. I'm not kidding I really do. I should be a junking when it comes to saving stuff I'm working on (like blogs for instance) but I'm not. So I was the happiest person in the world when I got a battery backup for my computer, but now I really need to bite the bullet and just buy a flash drive already. My computer at home has crashed twice, so it's probably best if I back up everything on there. So taking a hint from the fact that the blog I wrote about umbrellas just disappeared, I'm now writing about USB sticks.

They're convienent and helpful. They're portable. And we've got them in every size you can imagine! They're becoming a huge giveaway item, so what are you waiting for?

A promotional product that makes you....smarter?

Not only could it make you smarter but it tastes delicious and releases hormones that cause happiness. What is it?

Chocolate!

According to Yahoo, a recent study done by Mars, Inc found that flavanols, an ingredient in certain types of cocoa may actually increase brain function and delay decline as people age. During the trial, young healthy women were given flavanol rich chocolate and there was a significant increase in blood flow to the brain. The women did not become rocket scientists, but the increased blood flow is causing scientists to take notice of the effects that chocolate can have on the body.

But, they warn to not just go out and binge on chocolate. It's a calorie load. So why not help your employees along the way by keeping some chocolate in the office! Dark chocolate has been proven to help the heart, and now with the news that chocolate may increase brain function, how could you not want to just have some in the office?

Plus, it makes people happy!

For more info on the study, check out this Yahoo article!

And for some delicious brain power, check out our array of chocolate promotional products!

Beware of papercuts...

Promtoional Primary Care Bandage Dispenser

So I was in a hurry to find a document somewhere on the mess that is my desk (messy desk, organized mind) and was flipping through papers left and right. And it happened. I can't even describe the sound, but it was bad. I had gotten the age old enemy of anyone who works with paper. A paper cut. It was vicious. It was bleeding. It was painful! And it only healed yesterday (I got it a week ago).

Luckily, we had an item in the office that helped. And with all the stuff we sell, we tend to have a lot of stuff in here, but this product helped me more than a Valentine Duck or a giraffe stress ball (of which we have about 70, don't ask me why).

This primary care bandage dispenser was in my desk drawer and I grabbed it and pulled out a band aid. And while I was still in pain (I think the whole office heard my yelp of pain), it still helped with the cut.

Fantastic promotional item. FANTASTIC!

Water Bottles! Keep it cold!

There's nothing more refreshing on a hot day than an icy cold glass of water or iced tea or lemonade. Of course, it's not exactly hot right now in most of the country, but regardless of that fact and based on my useless theory of "planning ahead works best," it's probably a good idea to start looking for springtime promotional products now. So, with that in mind, picture that it's a sweltering hot day and the air conditioning is broken. You're dying of the heat and any glass of water that you put ice in turns into disgusting warm room temperature in about 10 minutes. What's the solution?

This Cool Gear Freezer bottle is the perfect product for hot days. Slip the freezer stick in the freezer and it'll keep it cool for hours. Your sweaty coworkers will be jealous, but you'll be calm, cool and refreshed!

Oh it's ice scraper weather!

It's most definitely ice scraper weather here in the Northeast. Some of our staff isn't even in yet, even though they left home earlier than usual. It's times like these when people are thankful for promotional products like ice scrapers, snow brushes, hats, gloves, scarves and more. With that in mind, I'm listing the top 3 promotional products that I've been given by Motivators that I was extremely thankful for:

My Motivators Fleece

It's freezing outside and the mixture of icy rain that's going on is disastrous. Luckily my fleece kept me warm as I was scraping the nearly 2 inches of ice off my windows

My Motivators Baseball Cap

I did have a beenie that I could have worn, and in actuality it would have been warmer, but the bill of the cap kept the little ice pellets from blinding me.

My Motivators Ice Scraper

2 inches of ice on the car. How could I not be thankful for this?

So there's proof right there that promotional products aren't just useless items that people toss away. In fact, it's proof that if you choose these products there's an extremely good chance that they'll be thankful to you!

Prevent Check Fraud and Personal Identity Theft!

Promotional Uni-ball 207 Gel Clear Barrel, Gel Pen

I'm not usually one for science experiments but the one I saw yesterday just had to be talked about. A check was written out to me for the amount of 1 million dollars. (Don't get too excited, if it had actually been legit I'd be in the Bahamas by now)

The check was written with a regular stick pen and then signed with this pen. The Uniball Gel 207. The check was then placed in a glass dish and a common household substance was poured over it. It sat for about twenty minutes and I watched it the whole time! No, I'm kidding. The dish was then pulled out twenty minutes later, after said household substance had done its thing and what I saw shocked me.

All the writing that had been done on the check in regular ink was gone, leaving nothing but a blank check. Except the signature. Signed with the Uniball 207's specially pigmented ink, the signature remained in tact. The ink is waterproof which makes it impervious to check washing. It's the ultimate took to prevent against check fraud.

It's a perfect promotional item for so many uses and is available in a variety of colors. For Further Information use the Following Link: Uni-ball 207 Gel Clear Barrel, Gel Pen

It's Office Supply Day!

Officially, I don't know if there is an actual office supply day BUT it is in our office. The most crucial and in demand office supply products just got handed out and let me tell you, there was one heck of a beeline for them. So what are these in demand office products?

1. White Out Correction Tape
We know what we're doing but occasionally, we do have to make mistakes. Or we have to change something. So one of the most valued tools around here is the correction tape. It's neat, it's easy to use, you don't have to worry about spills. It's perfect.

2. Highlighters
Sometimes things are just too important to be left blank. So you color it in with a bright neon color and you've got yourself something that stands out. Granted with the color selections, of hot pink, neon yellow, lime green, and bright blue you've got a paper that looks like it belongs in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but at least its noticeable.

3. Calculators
We all have them, but a couple people needed some. But they're in demand and they're useful.

4. Post It Flags
Yesterday a certain person who shall remain nameless post it flagged something to death and then handed it to me. Clearly I know which pages to pay attention to.

So yeah that's just the scoop from a large office that uses supplies every day. All supplies that can be promotional items!

Cell Phones!

So this morning, while in a rush to go get some birthday lotto tickets for a coworker, I ran out of the house and supposedly forgot my cell phone. In actuality, it was hidden in the oversized pocket over the cozy sweatshirt that I'm wearing today. I also thought that I forgot $5 I that found this morning. So, I grouchily pulled out of the Dunkin Donuts parking lot with no cell phone and no cash, teased with the thought of the new Maple Breakfast Sandwich. But about five minutes ago, I happened to put my hands in my pocket and found my cell and my money. So how do I stop this from happening again? Larger bulkier cell phone? A wallet perhaps? Or maybe, just maybe, one of these?

Keep It Together!

So if a messy desk is the sign of an organized mind, what's a messy car a sign of? Hopefully the same thing because mine's a disaster. I mean honestly, the first words out of a driver's mouth when welcoming a new passenger shouldn't be any of the following:

"You can sit on that, it's fine."
"Oh, just throw it in the back, no problem."
"You can step on that stuff, nothing's breakable...wait, where are my sunglasses?"
"When the heck did I have McDonald's?"

All of these phrases can potentially turn off passengers and make them feel less comfortable. So whether you're a slob or just unorganized, I believe we have the perfect product.

Leeds Front Seat Mobile Office

It's something everyone can use! It's a front seat mobile organizer that sits conveniently
on (you guessed it) your front seat! It's got a variety of compartments for electronics (ipods, PDAs,cell phones), files and even a laptop! It'll keep everything stored and at your fingertips. Imagine only having to move ONE thing to the backseat instead of a variety of stuff.

It's an organized mind's dream!

March Basketball!

So now that the Superbowl is over, it's time for the biggest basketball season to begin! I actually had to research a little bit about what this craziness actually is all about. I'm hardly a sports fan, so this isn't something I'm familiar with. I mean the Superbowl was on yesterday and I kept leaving the room and rewinding the Tivo when I came back just to see the commercials.

But I do know basketball promotional products. And we do have a lot of them! In fact we've got a whole theme dedicated to March Basketball. Clappers, foam fingers, basketball koozies, keychains, stressballs, mini basketballs, and so much more! We've got all the promotional products you could possibly need, so check them out! You're sure to find exactly what you're looking for to support your favorite team!

No More Winter, according to the Groundhog!

While it's interesting to believe that winter will be 6 weeks shorter or longer based on a rodent looking for his shadow, it's something we've all learned to accept on February 2. Well according to Phil, the groundhog that America trusts, we're getting an early spring! But don't rule out winter just yet. Sure you can buy some beach balls, and frisbees to get in the spirit, but considering the mild winter those of us in the Northeast have had so far, I'm not banking on the animal. I'm still pushing for ice scrapers, parkas, fleeces and more.

Happy Groundhog Day

But hey, if you wanna bank on this guy that's cool too. He's like the Al Roker of rodents.

Put Your Name On It!

What kind of promotion does it take to get the Boston Police Department, the FBI's Bomb Squad and Homeland Security's attention? Apparently one that looks like the popular children's toy, Lite Brite. Lite Brite was this neat little gadget that had little light bulbs that you could pop into a board (think: peg board). You use the bulbs to create a design and voila! Lite brite hearts, dragons, stars, everything you could possibly imagine.

According to reports, Turner Broadcasting hired a marketing company to promote its show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" that airs on comedy central. Lite Brite type displays of one of the characters were produced and hung in various locations across the country. But it didn't work out so well, especially in Boston where citizens saw the displays on bridges and thought they were bombs.

Turner has since apologized and all other variations of the Lite Brite promotion have been taken down, but let this be a lesson in promotions: Never assume people know what it is, who you are, or what it's about.

Imprinting is key. Put your name on it. Be proud of who your company is and what you're all about. And also, it gives fewer margins for error if people can't figure out what something is at first.

But if you like the idea of light up promotions, be sure to check these out! These flashing stick necklaces are great for clubs, toy stores and so much more!
