On this day, nationwide, schools and organizations teach children the benefits of good health. Also, it’s to aid in teaching parents how they can help and protect their children with good nutrition, year round fitness, and exercise.
Health professionals and health organizations across the United States take part in this day through various activities and events. Here are five items to raise awareness for Child Health Day.

2. Jump Rope
Childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and quadruped in adolescents in the past 30 years. Many children are gaining weight at a faster pace because they lack the daily physical activity that helps them maintain a normal body weight. Many children can be found sitting on their couch watching television, playing video games until all hours of the night, or lazily lounging around on their smart phones. In order to promote Child Health Day, we must encourage children to exercise more. Jumping rope can be fun and is a great way for children to stay in shape. It’s ideal for a full body workout.
