This year on May 8th, Military Spouse Appreciation Day will be held. President Ronald Reagan first recognized the profound importance of a spouse’s commitment to the readiness and well-being of military members and declared May 23, 1984 the first Military Spouse Day. Now the day is celebrated on the Friday before Mother’s Day in May annually. On Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we celebrate military spouses and all that they do as the supportive backbone of the families who support our troops. They are the silent heroes who are essential to the strength of the nation, and they serve our country just like their loved ones. On this day make an effort to reach out to a military spouse and show your support.
