Promotional Bags Help the Homeless

Red Bag is a non-profit organization that brings the essentials to homeless people in San Diego and around the world every day. And it all depends on a high-quality, eye-catching bag.
Finding the right bag for Red Bag was easy for Michael McRoskey, founder of Red Bag, thanks to Motivators’ Quick Quote feature, which allows shoppers to scan products and decide what makes the most sense for their business or organization. He chose our imprinted evergreen drawstring backpack because of its affordable price and large size.
The drawstring backpacks must carry a variety of food items and water for the homeless, so it was important to choose a durable item with a big capacity. McRoskey also needed the imprint area to be large enough that the logo would be instantly recognizable.
As for the bag’s color, “We chose to print on red bags because red is the color of aid and love,” he said. “Eventually, we want Red Bags to be synonymous with helping the homeless on a personal level, in every city.”
McRoskey also relied on Adam, a Motivators promotional consultant, for assistance. “He helped with shipping discounts and answered my questions about the artwork process and plate fees,” he wrote in an email. Adam didn’t stop there – he and Motivators also donated 100 magnets to Red Bag, which were sold for donations and given away for promotional purposes.
Today, McRoskey’s organization has distributed 2,500 bags to be given out to the homeless. People all over San Diego now associate Red Bags with helping the homeless. Furthermore, McRoskey has received photos of the bags being reused by homeless men and women, helping to spread his message.
